Falter EP

IN AWE OF PAST WE WANDER
SEEMING TO MISS THE LIGHT
OUR FUTURE AS BRIGHT AS A THUNDER
WATCHING THE BATTLES WE FIGHT

CATCHING THE DARK IN LIFE
INSTEAD OF BEYOND
HOLDING IT FONDLY
THE HIVE MIND, IT’S STRONG

THE VIEW THAT SHRINKS OUR MIND
THE FEW OF THEIR OWN KIND
WE THINK IN ONE PLACE
THEY LIVE IN ENDLESS SPACE

WE FALTER
SHAKING, CRAVING
IT’S DEPRAVING
THE MENACE
FOR OUR VERY OWN MESSAGE

Hello and welcome to another blog! Today I’m going to show you more music and this time it’s by me. I just want to use this blog episode to let you know that I still do music myself and let you listen to my own work. It is the four track ‘Falter EP‘!

Falter EP

Falter EP is my first actual release in 2020. I collected four tracks that go more into the Atmospheric/Future Garage direction. It is the style I’ve been doing the most for the past few years and I felt as I should make some more in this style once again.
I put the little text in the beginning of this blog because it’s the only thing I want to express with the 4 songs.

The overall mood is darker than previous works like my Salvation EP. Falter expresses the dark world we feel around us in our day to day life. We miss to think about which endless spaces subsist in our mind while we only think about the present, what’s here and now and what our surroundings tell us to think about.

Original vocals and reimagining an old track

Two tracks have some vocal material in them. The reimagination of my original song ‘Message’ featuring Magicka is one of them. When listening to the original song from my Heart Trip EP I sometimes felt a bit different than the actual song. This pretty quickly got me to decide to make another version of this song, placing the astonishing vocals in another, darker setting.

The second song with vocals is ‘Falter’, the track giving the EP it’s name. It developed from a short snippet I made back when we had the #dailytunechallenge going on. I drove over to a friend and let her record two short and raw vocals lines. This way I could create a whole track around this tiny bit of material instead of finding the right sample to use for a song. The fairly short lyrics (‘stumbling through my restless mind, a place where I don’t need to hide’) fits the message of the whole too. At least that’s what I think.

I don’t want to talk too much about the music though but instead let it speak for itself. Let me know if you had a nice listening experience and if there’s anything else you want to comment on this EP. Until next time, when there will be more blog material for you to read!

Enjoy!
